Abstract
The purpose of this study was to estimate the adhesion, proliferation, and osteogenic functionality of osteoblast cultured on the various diameter and length of TiO2 nanotubes. The tests of osteoblast adhesion, proliferation, and alkaline phosphatase activity resulted that there was no significant difference between nanotubes, but all values of osteoblast cultured on all kinds of nanotubes showed higher adhesion, proliferation, and alkaline phosphatase activity than those cultured on pure titanium as a control group (p<0.05). In terms of the influence of nanotube length on osteoblast behavior and osteogenic functionality, the increase of nanotube length reduced the initial adhesion and proliferation of osteoblast. Also, the results of alkaline phosphatase activity test showed same trend as those of cell adhesion and proliferation test, but all results did not show any significant difference between all experimental groups(p>0.05).
